What do you really do at work?
In my role as an Associate Executive Director, I am a true extension of the societies I work with; their success and growth is my priority. I assist my clients with everything from board governance, membership recruitment and retention, budgeting, communications, websites, large international conferences as well intimate Board and Committee meetings. My position is all about relationships, effective communication, making sure all invested parties have everything they need (and then some) and details, details, details.

Describe your Perfect Day.
A sunny day on a lake, in a boat, water skiing, swimming and tubing with family and friends

What’s your Superpower?
Problem solving: the ability to look at a situation objectively, go beyond a fixated mindset to be open to new ways of thinking, explore several options, visualize the worst case scenario, find a way around it and also have a back-up plan in place, all while remaining level headed.

What’s your life motto?

What inspires you?
I am inspired by the opportunity to learn new things, explore new places, meet new and interesting people, and the possibility of making a positive impact in someone’s life

Her Story:

Kayla is driven by the positive outcomes of hard work and perseverance. Kayla has an adventurous spirit and has taken every opportunity to travel around the world. Kayla’s career began in hospitality on the hotel side having the opportunity to be part of a pre-opening and from there moved into corporate event planning for pharmaceutical and medical companies. Once she entered into the association world 9 years ago, she never looked back.

Kayla graduated from University of Minnesota St. Cloud with a double major in Geography and Speech Communications and a minor in Travel and Tourism. During college, Kayla studied abroad in England and Guatemala.

When Kayla is not working she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 young children, boating, skiing, hiking, walking, biking, going to the cabin – pretty much anything outdoors!
